Here are my thoughts on the Heroes season finale. If you didn't watch it, for god's sake don't read this.

i too was disappointed a bit.

me and audrey were wondering why peter didn't just fly away himself. the brotherly love was kinda cheesy .. reminded me of all the crying that was done in spiderman. i found myself yelling at the tv, "yes, yes, boo hoo GET ON WITH IT!!" .. and then nothing.

still, it was enough to give me closure for the season.

"It should have been great, but it really felt kind of rushed, particularly at the end, and I think it could have seriously benefitted from being a half hour longer."

Yeah, what you said - it was definitely rushed at the end and felt anti-climatic.

As far as the Peter not flying thing, I've never seen him able to use more than one power at a time. When he got stabbed by Sylar (and began healing) he came out of invisbility mode. Not only that but he still didn't believe in himself and seemed to need his brother for emotional support.

I also like the idea of a retired band of superheroes out there and especially liked what her face's father being one. That was cool.

Why did Nathan/Peter even need to fly away? Couldn't Claire have just shot Peter, thereby killing him long enough to disrupt the reaction? Then they remove the bullet and everyone lives. It's also more environmentally friendly.

Ugh. Don't even get me started on the Sylar thing. This show has been so well crafted so far that this drove me nuts. I'm psyched for Hiro in feudal Japan though.

Yeah I gotta say man that episode was disappointing. As you said it was building up to something but they never took it home. If like you were saying they are pulling punches on the fight scenes to spare fans or younger audiences that really disappoints me. In all actuality I thought the bomb would go off and New York would get decimated setting a very interesting scene for season 2. But alas it was all lame and maybe Sylar's actually alive ooooh sucks. Like htothem says above too, put down Peter and then go explode him in the Arizona desert. Plus HOW could they let Sylar get away into that manhole, if that's in fact the case? They were intent on watching him and they just forget? Queer. I could go on. Keep watching LOST it's quality. Episodes 7-12 of Season 3 were a bit rough but that's the only patch I've found lackluster.

Maybe I'm wrong, but when Sylar drops after Hiro stabs him and the whole thing flashes in his eyes I figured that Sylar had seen that and knew that was what should happen so that the bomb did go off. I figured that's what Sylar wanted. Which would be why Sylar let Hiro stab him. Eh, overall I agree with you; it didn't really live up to the rest of the season.

You're just now getting into LOST? I started watching about 3 episodes into season 2, and I think I watched all of season 1 in a week. I just couldn't stop. I can't wait for the season finale tomorrow.
