seriously though. one thing halo has that a lot of shooters lack, is a story. a in depth, full, well rounded story. so much of a story, one could call it modern mythology. and to keep the story interesting and growing through a trilogy is impressive in itself. i don't know how much halo you've played, but there is a huge progression in the series. one that, if you get interested in, you can't help but to want to finish it out. and personally i find the story behind it the most intriguing part. still, as a fps, i also find it challenging, and looked forward to the new weapons, vehicles, tweaks, and foes; but also to the conclusion to an epic story.
and funny that you mention goldeneye. a mighty aspect both of these games share, was/is their multiplayer aspects. yeah, other games had them, but there was something goldeneye had, and halo had, that made them so very addictive. the replay value for those games is still so high due to that aspect.
Is the story not really so prevalent if you play multiplayer co-op? Maybe the guy I played through the early stages with was just skipping past all the story stuff and I didn't notice.
I prefer multiplayer over the PC though, because then I can't have bastards looking at my corner of the screen and cheating!
You just love pissing in people's cornflakes, huh?
No, I have no clue; never played it. I only play real video games.
Like Zelda. Yeah, that's right; Zelda kicks some motherfuckin' ass.
Ok, I don't know what's wrong with me except that maybe I ate a practically whole cheesecake while watching the Daily Show. Oh, and I haven't seen/said anything to you in a while, so I figured why not?
...I'm just spoiled from years of playing really good PC shooters...
That's it right there. I want to mount a soapbox (not that way) and shout in a Hicks-like style, "You call this a game?! *p-kow* You don't play FPSes with your thumbs! *p-kow* p-kow*".
