375. The XTC of St. Theresa

OK, the first of the serial fiction project. Since it was my idea I get to introduce the title and concept, and if there is any interest we shall continue. The idea was for a vast and complex novel (that I still will consider after, if, this project comes to completion, depending) about a young girl named Theresa, whose life is perpetually reflecting famous works of art without her knowing it. The idea came from Oscar Wilde's Decay of Lying, which most eloquently and articulately explains the act of life imitating Art, rather than art imitating Life. The other inspiration was, of course, The Ecstacy of St. Theresa - which is more fun to take literally than metaphorically, especially if you cater to the Freudian notion of Death and Orgasm inhabiting the same breaths. Plus arrows through the stomach. The idea is that in each chapter her life will reflect some famous painting or sculpture or other variation of fine art. There is no limit to what you can choose and further, you should feel no need to explain what piece of art she has found herself in. There is no rule regarding style or genre as each chapter flows into the next. In fact, the only required rule is that she not realize her life is imitating Art. Also, I should assume that the story will end with the titular work, though I am open to discussion.

I should like for you to recruit outsiders for this, even though in my previous post I was claiming to deny interest from outsiders. Still, I'd like to discuss things with them. Strangers are weird, and I don't need some strange stranger mucking up such a wonderfully strange piece of work. Opinions and suggestions open. Also, I'd like to suggest the notion of a forward moving plot, rather than a series of shortish works but digression from such plot is perfectly alright especially as we consider the current lack of plot. I'm most excited about this.
