OOC Info For My Characters

*jumps on the bandwagon with glee* If you only read one section of this, read the part about visiting Zoe's office.

Sam comes from the television show Supernatural, and since he's normal in most other ways, the only thing that really needs to be mentioned are his visions. Sam has psychic premonitions, in the form of nightmares (while he's asleep) and visions (while he's awake). He sees things exactly as they're going to happen, usually from an outsider point-of-view, like he's watching it from a point of non-involvement. The general timeline is that nightmares are things that will happen within a few days, and visions are things that will happen within a few hours/that day at the most.

Where did this power come from? I have no idea, because that hasn't been revealed in canon yet. I'm going with the primary theory that he was born with the abilities, but they didn't manifest until he got older. If you would like Sam to have a nightmare or vision that relates to your plot, please don't hesitate to ask, because I love hurting Sam and causing him angst, and this is my favorite way to do it. *g*

Layla comes from a movie called Sky High (which everyone should rent if you haven't already seen it, because it's awesome, even if it is a kid's flick). The movie is about kids with superpowers going to a high school for...kids with superpowers. (Did I mention it's a kid's flick?) Anyway, Layla's power is the ability to control plants. She can bring them back to life, make them grow, make them shrink, etc. The only thing she can't do? Grow lemons. It's a weird thing, I know. And yes, her power sounds kind of cheesy - until she gets pissed off at you and you suddenly find yourself hanging upside down getting suffocated by vines.

As of right now, Layla is not telling anyone that she has any kind of magical ability. Part of the reason she's at Fandom High is to try to live as a "normal" person (since she'll have to have a secret mundane identity when she gets older) in an environment where, if she's found out, she won't get looked at funny for what she can do. Until there's a plot that requires it, she won't be using her powers openly. Of course, if you would like that plot to be your plot, just let me know. For now, just know that there is going to be a significant lack of dead plants around the dorms. *g*

Also, just as an FYI since this probably won't get mentioned otherwise, Layla's a vegetarian because her mother's power is that she can talk to animals. It turns out that they don't like to be killed and eaten. Who would have guessed?!

The new influx of students and teachers has made me realize that a) I do not have guidelines about coming to visit Zoe, and b) I should probably have guidelines about coming to visit Zoe.

As the principal, Zoe is in her office every day, Monday-Friday during what would be considered regular business hours, and probably a while before and after those hours as well. Despite my continual efforts to find a way to get paid to play in FH, I do not have the luxury of sticking Zoe in her office every day. So, I've reached the point where I only make office posts when I know someone wants to drop by, either because they need something played out, or because they're bored and want to chat. *eyes Cameron*

In order to keep from having a dogpile in Zoe's journal when I make a post, I've created a voicemail post for Zoe's office. If you want to come in and see Zoe, drop me a comment, and I'll work with you to figure out a time that's good for both of us. All comments will be automatically screened, but if you make an IC comment, I'll unscreen it for you. Don't think that your reason has to be something grand - "Hey, so-and-so just got back into town, and I'd like for them to say hi," is a perfectly valid reason.
