I'm impressed at all reviews over at Goodreads.
Thanks for the heads up over the Karen miller Alliances - will avoid for sure.

Writing reviews really helps me analyse the book properly. And I love the concept of 'free books'. I mean, you just have to write a review in exchange.

I also love winning books! I won a copy of Son of Hamas at Goodreads. I'm not even halfway through, but it's absolutely fascinating. It's written by a Palestinian who is the son of one of the founders of Hamas. It's the only book I've won there so far, but it takes seconds to enter each contest. Got nothing to lose really...

You and Jill have both commented on the Alliances title. I began it months ago. Almost gave up at times, but somehow persevered. Because if not for the problems I mentioned, it could have been a good story. And some reviewers said it was good. I think we all notice different things about books. I've probably enjoyed some of the SG books that others have said are appalling because of the errors they've noticed! Life is fascinating like that.

I have this on my reading list right now. But if John doesn't stop bringing new books home, I'll never get through it. :)
