Jacob squinted at the cliff, assessing it carefully. He'd dove off it before, several times, and it wasn't nearly as rocky or as dangerous as the cliffs at La Push. The pool beneath the waterfall was nice and deep and didn't have nearly as many rocks as the beaches back home.
"Yup. I've done it before. Besides, how else am I going to impress you?"
"You don't need to impress me, silly," she insisted as she started to unpack the picnic basket she'd brought along -- books at the top, then more books, and finally some food snuck into the bottom. "I'd rather have you alive and uninjured than me impressed."
She grinned, settling her light skirt as she settled on the blanket, her eyes glancing over to the water. "Did you think maybe of going swimming today?" Which would mean wetness and nudity. But they were at the falls and it was a prudent question, she thought.
