Wisdom Teeth

I had three wisdom teeth pulled yesterday. I've never been so scared in my life, even Shan was able to acknowledge that he has never seen me so shook up. Fortunately he was very patient with me and provided me with a lot of coaching as I called him 30 times throughout the day trying to come up with reasons to back out ( Read more... )

Yes, yes it does. Sadly, I missed out on this for years and was even quite leery about taking it this time as my last few experiences with it left me quite ill. No illness now though, just good times.

It really depends on the person and the teeth. Yours should actually be even easier than mine to pull because you are so much younger. The younger the wisdom teeth, the smaller the root (which makes twisting/odd shaped roots less likely and these roots equal pain, I was fortunate as mine were straight) and the less complications. Apparently, White women have the easiest wisdom teeth to remove as our bones are so much softer.

Hence, even if your dentist sucks, you shouldn't have any problems. When my dentist told me that I would only feel a slight pressure when he pulled them, I thought, "Yeah right." But he wasn't kidding. He didn't even have to use the drill, and you are much less likely to have a drill busted out than I am, once again due to your age.

Like I said, the worst thing was the first Novocaine injection. And honestly, I didn't even need Vicodin today. I just like it. Tomorrow I probably won't take any. If you bruise easily though, you could face a lot more swelling/bruising. I haven't had ANY.

Will it bother everyone if I say I get to keep mine? I have a big mouth...

I thought I got to keep mine too. Then I just realized that my dentist let me slip through the cracks. After the current dentist explained my current lopsided (you can't tell by looking at my smile unless I tilt my head and show you) overbite, I understood perfectly. I might be able to shave off at least a mm just by doing this alone, plus mine were sort of sideways and food was always getting stuck in them.

But hey. I have a 30 pill supply of Vicodin that isn't medically necessary! What do you have?
