I read that Dear Abby and I felt the same way as you. I believe you should be honest with kids, but you don't have to go into gory details like "I had unprotected sex once upon a time....". This woman's future children and also her son who was adopted deserve that much respect.

I think Neil should talk to you about some of the things that have been bothering him about his biological father and siblings...since you've gone through similiar things in your own life. I'm not even sure that his two brothers know he exists and he's really stressed about whether or not he should contact them. It's really sad. He is like this big secret on their side of the family and his half sister is so freaked out about it she can't decide what to do with their relationship.
