I'd say the general populace and most of the students are decidely liberal, but not around me. I am surrounded by freshman who haven't figured out how to think for themselves. There are a lot of upper middle class kids here who all have Republican parents. They think that Bush is the greatest man to ever walk the earth. It's pretty awful. My roommate has Bush stuff plastered all over his side of the room. Hmmm....does the fact that his dad is a commercial real estate agent who probably makes 300k a year have anything to do with that? Hmmm....

yeah, but on the flipside there's just as many young liberals who just think that way because jon stewart does.

Hey, don't get me wrong. I'm an upper middle class kid who has Republican parents. The difference is that I have the initiative to go out and examine the facts and come to my own conclusions. If someone is reading the newspaper, watching the news, etc. and he comes to the conclusion that conservatism is the poltical ideology he most closely identifies with then more power to him. Conservatism is a perfectly viable worldview. I just happen to disagree with it. I just take issue with the kids that let polical jingoism make up their mind for them.
