This is one of the better tests of face blindness that I've seen...

test of face blindness from University College London

Famous Faces:There are 30 faces of famous people. You get to name them and then identify whether you know the person and if you got it right (so you don't have to have the exact name). I got 5%, or 1 out of 21 or so that I ( Read more... )

Cool tests. I got all of the famous people right except for one...I didn't recognize tony blair.

For the old-new, I scored 84%...I was surprised I scored that well cuz as I was taking it I thought that the ones that they tested me on were blurring together and I didn't know if I'd seen the face in the test, or the section where I was just suppose to watch them.

it amazes me that people can recognize famous people so effectively. i liked that this test lets you count only the faces you have been exposed to, so i know it's not just that i've never seen pictures of half the people. i only counted the people i'd seen pictures of at least 3-4 times, and i still had no idea at all who they were.

i had the same experience with old-new, but then again all the faces started to blur together so they all equally familiar or unfamiliar...

this may be the best test of face blindness that i've encountered so far. people have pointed out that it would be more effective on old-new if we had to recognize the faces from a different angle or with different hairstyle or that sort of thing so it better mimicked real life. that would distinguish better between visual memory (which i'm pretty good at) and actual face memory (which i suck at).

good to hear from you! ~j
