rubber duckies (more ireland pics)

in the river Liffey, running through the heart of dublin, there were ducks. you might think i'm talking about the birds you see on ponds, but no. these were yellow rubber duckies. many many yellow rubber duckies. we saw them the first day we were there and just looked and wondered. They do that on St Patrick's Day on the Chicago River, after they've dyed it bright, radiation green :-)

i never knew about the charity race tradition. i like the idea watching the duckies race on bright radiation green water! it seems a fitting match for bright yellow duckies.

it's been in my head too ever since i posted about it. and now brought it back! evil song! nah, it's too cute to be evil, but still... i'm glad i checked lj tonight because that means when i wake up in the morning that it will be gone. hear that?!

sadly, no. my brother was offered one, and i figured we could "share." he took it, but then as we were leaving he gave it back! ah well, at least i have lots of pictures.
