Sparring had seemed like such a good idea at the time.
Yeah, Z had already kicked Syd's butt once, but there had been two Zs to Syd's one. Add in a little rule of no powers and Syd could totally do this.
A tough girl like Z would totally be impressed by how well Syd could fight. Then there could have been bonding over shared bruises. Syd could have shown her the ice cream place nearby. And the nice dark booth in the back. The one that was perfect for sneaking kisses.
Unfortunately, even when there was just one, Z was a good fighter.
Syd groaned and shifted the ice-pack. Good enough to have earned the Yellow Ranger powers, instead of getting Pink and Syd getting bumped up.
And it totally wasn't fair that Sky would happen to see the sparring match. And of course, he would offer to spar with Z next, the anti-social show-off! God, Syd hadn't thought it was possible for her to want to kill Sky Tate that badly.
Syd blew out a frustrated breath and hugged Peanuts to her. Okay, so impressing Z wouldn't work. Maybe they could bond over fashion? God knows Sky couldn't horn in on that, if it wasn't SPD regulation, he didn't touch it. Stupid stick-up-his-ass jerk.
