birds of prey

About a day before we left for this trip I saw a hawk, the first one I'd seen in quite a while. On the drive to Pennsylvania, I saw twelve more. The day after we got here, I saw another one, on the ground this time, just about ten feet away. Wow! Very neat! I've never seen THAT many in such a short period of time. :::que twilight zone music:::

Here's a website that came up after a quick search
http://www.linsdomain.com/totems/pages/hawk.htm

There are a bunch of them if you just search "Totem Hawk." I tried "Hawk Omen" but it brough up all these pages about some video game. *lol*

Thanks for the link. I've been looking up hawk stuff on-line, but still haven't come up with much. I think this may be hawk migration time, but it still doesn't explain why I've never seen it before now! For the past two days in a row I've seen trees with 2-3 hawks sitting in them together. I didn't think most hawks were social - this is great, I'm going to have to go check out a book on hawks when we get home! I'm such a homeschooler.

Regardless of spring migration possibilities, I'm still taking this all as some kind of sign.

This may be migration time, but I don't believe in coincidences, either. I think there are messages, signs, whatever in a lot of things, for each of us. Most people dismiss it and say "Oh, it's just migration time." Then there are those of us who say, "yeah, that's true, but this means something else...." :)
