Well, I've never really dealt with him directly, so most of my stories are secondhand. And I don't really have all that many stories. Greg Schmidt is his name, though, so perhaps you can google him and find some stuff out.
The man is a horrible cheapskate and a huge ass. This story was just related to me this weekend: my friends in Renaissance Sword Theatre worked for him at one of his faires (he owns pretty much every faire in Iowa now). When he handed them their paycheck he said "Hey, it's RST! I love you guys because you're not-for-profit and I can pay you a pittance!" And you can figure out by talking to him for just a little while that he's in it for the money...he doesn't really seem to enjoy the concept of the ren faire, he doesn't seem to appreciate good performances, and he's rude to his employees and customers alike. Most of the people I know who have worked with him hate him. If you're really interested, I can put you in touch with some to hear their stories directly.
