I can't use my words well right now. Just wanted you to know I read this, and it affected me, hard and deep.

Beautifully written!
Great take on a potential Purgatory-return. I loved the underlying story of Sam and his book too.

YAAYYYY YOU FOUND IT!! Don't apologize at all! I'm just immensely glad and relieved that you approve of this, since it kept sliding inexorably away from your original prompt.

I'm so glad this Sam rang true for you: he's definitely a composite of various Sams we've seen on Show, but it's always so hard to strike a reasonable balance with his character. It was weird trying to tie together a Sam who was so concerned with independence and living his own life and having his own things and a Sam who's finally realized how much he needs Dean and how much Dean needs him - so I'm very happy to hear that it worked for you. I kind of overthought this and wasn't sure whether it would make any kind of sense outside of my own head.

And as for Dean...the scene where Sam finds him was what made me want to write this one, and you've caught all of the reasons right here. Basically, Sam catching Dean is a thing that I have needed for a long time.
