I guess not many of you will care; As of today, our solar system now only has eight planets, not nine. Pluto has been demoted and is not longer considered a planet. It was inevitable. Since the discovery of a wannabe tenth planet UB313 (or Xena), which is bigger than Pluto, astronomers have been having sissy fits over what constitutes a planet ( Read more... )

Shit, I've been following this debate for weeks now but I was almost sure that they were going to raise the planet limit to 12, including Pluto, Xena and a few other Kuiper Belt objects. I think that would have been more fun anyway, honestly.

By the way, after hours on the phone with Bangalore, my wireless is now happily working.
