[Milliways] OOM: at the manor with Cleopatra

Nikola's home (currently) is an old manor house outside a very small town in Scotland. Cleopatra may find it a bit chilly, but Nikola hardly notices anymore

Cleopatra shivers. It is never this chilly in Egypt, and her clothing really isn't suited for anything outside of a very dry heat. She nods.

"Where is the light coming from? There are no lamps." She looks around curiously, her hand still in his.

Nikola points up. There are chandeliers spaced down the hall, and on the wall, where there would normally be a light switch, there is an empty light socket.

He likes that no one but him can turn on the lights in his house.

"Another miracle of modern science."

She frowns. It doesn't make sense to her...and she doesn't like being confused.

"There seems to be many miracles after my time."

"Oh, a great many," Nikola agrees.

"It's called electricity," he tells her. "It's like...harnessing the power of a lightning bolt."
