HEINE RAMMSTEINER ; Giovanni's "brother". Heine escaped the Underground years ago after slaughtering the scientists in their facility; in the process, he killed their "sister" Lily and almost killed Giovanni. Giovanni has been obsessed with him ever since. Despite several bloody run-ins during Heine's time at Nuadoria, the stalemate remains unbroken. The war waged by the Underground is escalating at home, and there is nothing for Giovanni to do without Einstürzen's army but to wait out their time, and keep Heine in line. It suits him well enough; nobody seems to bring out Giovanni's ecstatic, violent side quite like Heine does. It's hard to tell whether he loves him or hates him, but it seems to fall somewhere in the middle. More recently, Heine and Giovanni had an opportunity to talk without fighting - when the city was destroyed, and they were in a world of nonexistence.

CAMPANELLA FREULING ; An enigmatic swordsman. She works for Einstürzen and bears the black blade of the soldiers who terrorised the city streets and homeless children of the past. Luki and Noki answer to her directly, and although Giovanni seems to take his orders directly from Einstürzen, it seems that Freuling is still Giovanni's superior. Freuling has limited respect for him, and speaks down to him in much the same way that Einstürzen does, frequently criticising or reprimanding him for doing what she considers to be a subpar job. Giovanni seems to accept his position as the underdog, suggesting that he has a lot of respect for her. How much they know about each other's goals is somewhat ambiguous at this point.

NILL ; A friend and obvious liability of Heine's. Once already, Giovanni's taken advantage of her appearance in Nuadoria to threaten Heine with, turning his gun on her in an effort to bring the Dog out in him. Given her resemblance to Lily, there's a distinct possibility that he might see killing her as a way of "making up" for not killing Lily in the past. That and, knowing Heine, it would be a very efficient way to break him down. The only problem is getting to her. Nill knows the threat he poses, Heine's no idiot, and Naoto's also ready to protect Nill at any cost. If he tries, he'll have his work cut out for him.

FUYUMINE NAOTO ; A swordsman that Heine seems to be with quite often, recently. She's been an obstruction in the past; at a time just prior to the bombings, she made an effort to protect Heine from him and slashed at him with her blade, but he was agile enough to barely avoid it. They don't speak often, and recently they only clash when she suspects he's targeting Nill or putting innocent lives in danger. Given the blade she's wielding, he's fairly sure she's Freuling's territory.

COMMODORE SMOKER ; Smoker has been stuck in Nuadoria for almost as long as Giovanni has, on and off. When he first arrived, the Commodore attempted to bring order through a Task Force. Giovanni volunteered for the sake of information-gathering, as he wasn't sure of Heine's location at the time, but Smoker saw right through his act. He tried fixing his dangerous attitude and behaviour, until Giovanni made an attempt on his life. They've been rivals ever since, with Giovanni occasionally getting under his skin enough to steer him into a fight. Giovanni has been in his jail cell, and he's brought Smoker to his knees, but defeat doesn't last long for either of them; at this point, it's just a matter of one outlasting the other.

SPIKE SPIEGEL ; After Giovanni betrayed the Task Force, Smoker found himself another Task Force member who stayed the course, and that was Spike Spiegel. When he became Smoker's weakness, Giovanni jumped at the chance and kidnapped Spike, seriously wounding him. When Smoker left the last time, both Giovanni and Spike lost a purpose. The primary way they keep themselves busy in Nuadoria now is through each other, carrying on the legacy and the roles they've both carved out for themselves as rivals. Somewhat bizarrely, but for the wounds they occasionally give each other, it almost resembles friendship.

JIN KISARAGI ; A recent acquaintance who landed in Nuadoria and immediately began seeking people to blame for his displacement. He eventually settled on everybody. Giovanni spoke to him for long enough to see a strange comparison in their situations - but given that Jin isn't able to control his own tendencies enough to reason, it's disputable how useful he'll be. Although meeting Jin is like seeing a different version of himself through the looking glass, Giovanni finds him pretty interesting (and entertaining) to watch.

BYAKURAN ; Someone Giovanni has been speaking to recently on a semi-regular basis. At present they're only passing acquaintances who know very little about each other, but his lighthearted creeper behaviour is somewhat familiar from Giovanni's experiences with other members of the Underground, and he's taken an interest in him. He's clearly one to observe closely.

EIKE KUSCH ; Eike and Giovanni eventually ended up making contact somewhat through Heine, as Heine had already befriended Eike in his own way. Eike's a little dense and doesn't entirely comprehend the situation, perceiving Giovanni as the better son, Heine as the rebellious son, and Freuling as their legal guardian. Giovanni finds him amusing, confusing, but usually just irritating, but he quite enjoys the frustration he subjects Heine to with his gross misconceptions about their little family. At the moment, he's really too harmless and too useless to be of any real interest.

GAEA ; A person of interest. Although she's around quite rarely, he takes the opportunity to talk to her when he can. She reminds him of Einstürzen in the way she speaks, how she looks, and in her seeming involvement with things. If the opportunity arose, he'd probably ally with her.

BELIN ; His element, air. When the world was slowly coming to its end, Belin assured Giovanni that all of her air users wouldn't be harmed by the end of the world. That wasn't quite enough for Giovanni, who faced with the possible end of his conflict with Heine, and was torn by the prospect of losing the only connection to home that remained. Belin assured him that she'd take care of him, as well - and so he now believes that Heine's survival and his own is due to her.
