Where should I travel for New Year's?

I haven't been anywhere of note since my trip to Atlanta for the presidential election last year, and I've been feeling the urgent need to be Somewhere Else for the end of the decade...or perhaps it's just the urgent need to be Somewhere Else in general

And of course, you're always welcome to our home in Houston (we have a nice guest bedroom!), though I don't know if there's anything "amazing" going on - we usually just join friends at a bar.

Well, everything in Houston is new to me, including the bars, so I'm definitely thinking seriously about your very generous offer...

Besides, I didn't specify "amazing," though seeing you would certainly qualify--and after almost fifteen years, I suppose it might be time for us to actually meet. ;)

I'll start crunching the numbers and doing some comparison shopping to see how feasible this might be...

...but even if it ultimately can't be done for New Year's, I think I should make it happen at some point in the not-too-distant future anyway. :)
