wowwwwwwwwwwwww, that's a freakin brutal punishment. :-/ i would have expected an apology or something. wtf? can you appeal it?

I'm not too sure if I can appeal it. My mom called and I told her the entire situation and she's rather angry, so apparently she's going to call the RD and see if she can influence him to lighten my punishment.

maybe she could, it's always good to have an angry parent to voice their opinion. heh. what exactly is probation for residence? i guess i don't know much about law, lol.

That really is ridiculous. I can't believe that. Can you appeal? I think someone is a little too drunk on his own power, there? Even if you did say something... you have a right to. You even have a right to say it to his face if you want to... so I don't get this punishment at all. You are right you didn't deface anything and you didn't have any illegal substances.

I have a right to say it? My RD said something to the effect of I wouldn't say that to a professor, therefore I have no right to say it to my RA who is college faculty. The thing is, I didn't say it directly to my RA. And the same thing could happen with a professor, but I doubt I'd get in as much trouble. Since really, the RA shouldn't be eavesdropping on my convos. Thanks for the support though. And well, I'm not sure if I can appeal.

I already know 3 ppl on probation, and they say its not that bad so don't worry babe. But yea you're RD is an asshole.
