Long Day...

Dirk is watching *The Alamo* right now because it is on paperview and he has apparently wanted to see it. I would usually complain because he has been working so much and now that he is finally home and I like to spend time with him-- Except, today is the 3 month anniversary of my father-in-law's death, so I think I'll let him do whatever he wants ( Read more... )

I like Nikolas as a boys name. I believe it is the Greek spelling.

I have always liked Chole for a girl (pronouced clo-e) and of course James for a boy (I also like Josiah for a boy too). I loved picking out a name! Are you going to find out what it is?

Sad that while you have a baby growing in you that you want so bad, your sister has one that she doesn't. I will pray that she makes the right decision, babies are such a gift.

chloe is pretty unique. I don't think I know anybody with that name! I really like the name Josiah also, I should bring it up to my husband, but I don't think I like the *nickname Joe(y)* that might go with it. I want to find out if it's a boy or a girl and I think Dirk does also. Soon enough I'll be able to find out! In a couple more months I'll be able to feel the baby move, I can't wait!

I agree that it is sad about my Kaylee (sister). I don't know what else I can do about it. I told her I would do anything to help her, but I couldn't give her money for an abortion. She says people do it all the time and I just don't know about it. I don't know, have you ever been in a situation with a friend or family member who went through this? If so, what did you do?

Regarding nicknames... I have seen that if you raise the child with only using the one name (and make sure all friends and family members do the same) as soon as your child is old enough to have a nickname most won't agree to a shortened version of their name. I am hoping that works with my son as I don't like the nickname Jimmy for James (which I can't understand why it is a nickname for it in the first place).

I do know someone who has gone through the pain of abortion and I unfortunately didn't know about it until after it was done. Maybe you could point your sister to some of the places that give free abortion counseling that have ultrasounds. A lot of women change their minds after they see that it really is a baby and not just a problem. Good luck.

Yeah, I've heard that about nicknames too. I like the name James, but don't like Jim/my, it reminds me of an old man, you too? I like the nickname Jay though *what we call my cousin named James*
