... Now that I think about it, there's nobody I know who isn't in some way a suspicious person who is ostensibly overly well-meaning! It's the perfect position for a person to manipulate another, by making them believe they're the only one that can be relied upon.

Then there's only one solution: I have to trust the ones who don't want to help me! These are the only ones I can ensure will have no interest in turning me over to another party.
