Late last year, Fox signed me up for a service called Bobcat in a Box. Based on an xkdc comic, this bot goes online every day and purchases an item with a cost of one American dollar or less, and has free shipping. I got a lot from this entry, especially where you examined what the cost in human hours, etc., would be. Made me feel quite ashamed of myself. I discovered the free shipping, ridiculously inexpensive jewelry and accessories from China last year and had a wonderful time buying all kinds of things. Especially when I'd see something I paid a few dollars for for sale in a department store for five times what I paid for it.

Though I'd never heard of Bobcat in a Box, and it's not something I would go for--not into the random so much--I really did enjoy your entry.

If its any consolation, virtually everything we wear or use has been produced by virtual slave-labor so no need to feel especially bad about $1 brick-a-brack. And, really, who doesn't need a pad of stickie notes shaped like a band-aid? We all should have one of those.

I'm sharing mostly songs by Bowie this week for obvious reasons. This is probably the only entry for which I'll have the excuse to share this song.
