It's not strange at all. I find myself coming back again and again to something my linguistics teacher told me years ago: all languages are vocabulary-poor. The right words are a rarity.
Or maybe you just mean you haven't completely sorted out how you feel, so of course you can't explain it. In which case, never mind.
I'm afraid this is going to come out sounding really trite, but it's true: If someone doesn't actively like your quirkiness, they are probably not someone you really want to be dating. The idea of dating someone who didn't like my nerdiness and quirkiness is actually kind of strange to me. But then, my dating desires/experience may not exactly be parallel to yours, so that might be completely wrong. ^^;
Also, I'm glad you are being able to make decisions based on what's best for you. That's pretty awesome.
