I'll be flying down to Orlando on Saturday. (And honestly? I could sure use a break from the weather up here. Stupid ice.) I'll be flying back on Friday (just in time for jury duty. Joy. Rapture.) Anyway, we'll of course be doing the requisite Disney stuff while down there, but that does leave several days of time unaccounted for ( Read more... )

I can't answer the questions you've asked, but I will say that the highlights of my visit, other than the wedding, were the Buzz Lightyear ride and the pirate initiation (near the pirate ride) at the Magic Kingdom. Have a great trip, and report back on what else you end up doing!

Cape Canaveral and Kennedy Space Center are nearby, if you're interested in that type of thing. Maybe 45 minutes due east? There's a launch this Thursday. Daytona Raceway, home of the NASCAR museum is about an hour north. Don't think its your type of thing, but people can have hidden interests. And there's a little hole-in-the-wall internet cafe near Universal called Muse Gelato that has AMAZING gelato - its owned by a friend of my uncle, so I might be a bit biased, but it was the best I've ever had.

Sadly, I don't think the American Gladiators Dinner Theater is still there, that would have been my suggestion. ^.^

Other suggestions now include:

Cocoa Beach

Indoor Skydiving

The Mall At Millenia

The Full Sail College of Video Game Design (I incidentally also have a friend attending there)

Rocky's Replay (A mild drive, but totally worth it)

International Drive apparently also has lots of places such as mini golf, go-karts, and other items of interest.
