I now have furniture for my living and dining rooms!(pics forthcoming, honest) It is very awesome furniture, but my living room is long but fairly narrow - if I put all the pieces in that room that's supposed to go there it looks sort of cramped and is kind of hard to move around. Personally, I don't think you need a tv in the living room so long as the furniture in the basement supports being the main tv (comfortable, sits enough people to cover gatherings etc etc)

I'd kill to live someplace with a TV-less living room. It's in my long term plans, but unfortunately apartments aren't generally laid out for that kind of thing.

I think the CD idea is pretty cool! I would start with the rooms that visitors are likely to see: living room, dining room, kitchen, basement den and guest bathroom, also potentially guest bedroom depending on how likely you expect overnight visitors to be.

But then, being female, I am perhaps overly sensitive to how others view my living space, which is currently a wreck... *sigh*
