 I wondered why, after a busy day (and my first with the little man), after jogging and playing monster at Kid's Corral with the squirt and getting a few truck-related things taken care of, why I wasn't beat when 1am rolled around. I worked at a Wilson Farms for a few years (gas station/convenience store) which sells alcohol and tobacco. We were told that the most important thing about ID-ing someone is just to ask. An undercover police officer will never give us any type of ID...so as long as the individual gave us SOMETHING, we were covered. We weren't trained to spot a fake, just trained to always ask. Albeit, if the fake ID was really bad, I would refuse it purely because I was offended that the youngin perceived me as being stupid and/or too shy to say something.

Point being, maybe it's different here in TX, but I would venture that as long as you have some type of ID to show you should be fine.
