Car camping

So I'm heading to a folk festival this weekend and want to cook at least one meal a day. I've got a Primus stove and a little camp pot and pan. The car is accessible and they sell ice, so I am prepping some things ahead of time and bringing a cooler ( Read more... )

If the swiss chard lasts, when you get back, make green gnochi. Ask me about it then.
Blanch-then-grill the stems to serve with anchovy vinaigrette. You can ask me about that, too.
When I'm on the road I always eat beef jerky. It has a special place in my heart, and though it is very expensive, it frequently means I don't actually ever have to stop for a meal.

If you're making stuff ahead of time, soup. It's so easy to reheat, and it keeps. I personally recommend tortilla soup, but, whatever you want. Otherwise - pancake mix where you just add water. And bananas and chocolate chips :P
