Suddenly not all that good being alone
OK - not suddenly - it's been coming on - if I have time to myself, after about 2-3 hours, I don't know what to do with myself. I spent the day cleaning, refilling pet meds and food, playing a couple of video games, watching the Bruins game, then I just had to get out of the house, so I got in the car and drove. For an hour. Not exactly sure WHY I stopped posting...and certainly, in terms of some things, I wish I hadn't...the record this blog has proven to be for me is invaluable. Jeez
Eating smart and exercising can make people GRUMPY. Today started off not good before I was even awake, and now I get to work 12 hours today, tomorrow and Saturday. Yee freaking hah. -
Funny how quiet I can be when nothing is bugging me

OK, changing my attitude
Challenge accepted - I'll figure out ways to help mom and make her feel better, and help her be less isolated - visit more, take her places. I'll deal with the issues at work in ways that they'll do what I want while thinking it's their idea, compromise enough to push the important parts through. Today has sucked
Sucked sucked sucked sucked sucked. I've had to walk around the parking lot several times so far, and then come back and respond to email/talk to people, so that I was calm enough to do so professionally. Long weekend with lots of ups and downs with mom - ended on a good note yesterday, with her having a good day at work, and ready for today when she is getting her car worked on, and picking up her rental. Worried
Mom is starting to worry me - she's getting more and more isolated, and refusing to step outside her comfort zone even in the slightest bit. This holiday season was a tough one, with talking her off the ledge a several time a week project. First storm of 2014 started yesterday morning and ended midmorning today - we got about 10 inches. Mom got about 20. Took an hour to dig out this morning, and then I was off to work, to listen to everyone bitch and moan that they had to come in today, that they "had to RISK THEIR LIVES" - reminded them that they have the choice anytime they need to ( Read more... )
