Open it up.

Choose Colors/Grayscale. (this puts all the colors in a monochrome format of shades from white to black.)

Save As/Windows or OS/2 Bitmap (*.bmp)

Your original image is only 552 x 333. So let's increase the size a bit, shall we?

  • Take the Dropper Tool from your Tool Palette and click on the background of your image. Then use the same tool to right-click on your image. This will set both your Foreground and Background color in the Color Palette to the correct color!

  • Go to Image > Canvas Size. The Change Canvas Size window will open. Make New Width: 1024 and New Height: 768 (make sure both Center options are selected/checked). Click OK.

  • Go to Colors > Greyscale.

This will make your image monochrome.

Now you need to save the image.

  • Click the Save button on your Standard Toolbar. Or go to File > Save.

The 'Save As' window will open.

  • Name your image something like 'wallpaper-cher' (next to 'File name').

To save in the bitmap format, do the ( ... )
