Wouldn't a psychiatrist who lost his medical license still be a qualified psychologist?

two different degrees
psychologist is a phd - talk therapy usually
psychiatrist - pill pusher and medical privileges when they lock you up in the padded room :P

You can be a psychologist with a Masters, too.

Can you call yourself a psychologist, then? I think Mel's dad just calls himself a therapist.

(I found this on the internet, so who knows. But Brit's last psychologist only had a Masters, and she was specifically chosen for us out of the multitude of people at that particular clinic because she was cheaper since she didn't have a PhD.)

However, there are some master's degree programs available for those who wish to work in psychology. These programs are usually tailored to meet requirements for specific state licenses. For example, Michigan and California both have guidelines for those with a master's degree in psychology to practice; for example, they may perform group therapy. However, these degrees are not common and do not usually count toward a doctorate.
