I think the real fans are the ones that, um, like the show? Just a thought, for whoever's complaining about those of us who loved it. :P
I'm with you. It was a wonderful episode. Not 100% perfect, but incredibly satisfying and more than I expected.
I loved the companionapalooza. I loved Rose's return and THE KISS (!!!). Rose's ending was pretty much the definition of "bittersweet"--I was thrilled with joy and devastated at the same time.
My heart broke for the Doctor and for Donna. The mindwipe worked for me, because to me the story was that Donna always had the potential to be amazing, but was surrounded by triviality and beaten down by an emotionally abusive mother.
In one universe the Doctor helps bring out Donna's better side, in another Rose does, and I at least have hope that Donna will have another chance with the support of Wilf and Sylvia, whose eyes have finally been opened to how incredible her daughter is.
It's heartbreaking and awful, but I thought it was a wonderful story.

Take that back! A REAL FANTM does not simply enjoy a show! A Real Fan shows her dedication by refusing to accept anything that she Does Not WantTM, and hating anyone who writes stories where things she Does Not WantTM happen, regardless of whether they created the show/characters/story lines that made her a fan in the first place, because writing is only good if it's predictable wish fulfillment, with bad things happening to the characters she doesn't like, a only good things happening to the characters she does like.
Personally, as a Not!RF, I found it sad that yet again, The Doctor lost a beloved companion to a mind wipe. I empathized with his pain and with Donna's loss, because I love the characters. I also happen to feel that bad things happening to characters that I love isn't bad writing unless it's badly told, and IMO, Journey's End was a damn good story.

Well, whoever said that might be an expert, but the universe may have its own idea on what constitutes a Dr Who fan.

But I guess we're just not TRUE FANS enough to get it. :P
