I dunno if you knew, but this weekend was kinda scary. Friday night we (Harry and I) stayed up late watching a movie so it ended around 12ish. We were ready to go to sleep when we heard the tornado alarm. For the first time I was really scared ( Read more... )

Heh. Hurricanes are no better than tornadoes, so I wouldn't say that if I were you. :3

No, you can prepare for a hurricane. It gives you at least a day of warning, and I've been in a couple, and they are not that devastating as a tornado unless is a cat. 5.

Tornadoes, you just get an alarm and brace yourself. Well, it depends you know? I grew up in the coast, used to hurricanes...and I guess you are more prepared in case of tornadoes, I guess they even teach you all that stuff at school.

It's creepy isn't it? My earliest memory is a night when like 20+ tornadoes hit my home town in Indiana. I can actually remember sitting in our basement with the oil lamps since there was no power and hearing the tornadoes going past. IT was really eerie and I was only like 4 but I Can recall it very vividly. Scary stuff.

Glad you guys are ok and nothing bad happened.

I'm glad you and your family were all right. Storms like that are scary, especially that last one, although I admit I mostly slept through it. Mostly. Northwest Ohio can have some pretty nasty storms. A lot of people don't realize this, but we are part of Tornado Alley. It's just that Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Nebraska are more known for twisters. If you're up for a history lesson, you should look into how the Xenia, Ohio tornado helped Dr. Fujita develop his infamous scale and discover down drafts and micro-bursts. It's actually pretty interesting!
