Nice Weekend

Went out to see the flick Watchmen, which was surprisingly well done ^_^ Despite the obvious change in a pivotal scene towards the end (which doesn't really screw up the story, just a different..erm, setup), it followed the comic book, or as close as it could. They did their best to keep it faithful to the original, and you would swear some scenes ( Read more... )

It does sound like you had an awfully nice weekend, I wish I could have gone with you! ^w^ Granted, I did see the Watchmen, tho forgive me for not reading the graphic novel first.. I was too worried that I wouldn't enjoy it as much had I read it. ^w^';

Also, and almost more importantly, Happy Birthday! ^w^ I hope it's a good one!

Thank you very much for the Birthday wishes! ^__^ <3 I would totally give you a slice of cake if ya were around, with a scoop of ice cream on the side!

Perhaps if you did enjoy watching the movie, you may want to check out the comic now(later) to see a more in depth look at the characters and backstory ^_^ You'd be surprised at how many scenes are almost direct pages from the book!

But that's good to know, I'll definitely try and read the comic when I can ^__^ It'll be cool to learn more about everyone!

I would be the extra extra dessert! Kinda like if you go to certain restaurants and eat a full meal with dessert, but then upon leaving they give you a mint for afterwards... I'll be the last lingering flavor ^w^ <3

OC is a burden for me, i watched Teddi draw a piece of excellent art in minutes out of nowhere and i was about to get so depressed about that that i really hadproblems not to do/say anything stupid (i hope i managed to accomplish that). In the end i can be happy about the art my mate creates, just during theprocess i feel all so fucked up everytime, i fight that for years now and i almost made him loose all the fun in drawing... but i think i may be on a way of getting better.... hard thing for me that whole art stuff.

To Watchmen:
I seem to be the only one on earth that couldnt enjoy it.
I didnt know the materia before, i didnt know the comic book, and well... the movie for me was too much stretched, the sex scene where too long, the voilence was too explicit (and i say that... well nearly never) and after the first half you dont even know what the point of the movie will be or what it will be about in the end.

It was worth watching it, yet i wont watch it again so soon. I am looking forward to StarTrek, yes i am such a nerd. :P

That's where I think the comic book may have been a better starting point for most people to get a grasp at how the plot develops on their own terms, rather than leaving the film to do its best.

I never was a Trekkie fan, so you'll hafta give me the lowdown on that flick when it comes out! ^^

If you want, i surely will. :)

If you need a short summary: It plays before the original StarTrek (with Captain Kirk & Spock), to be exact, it plays when they all are way younger, so there's a young kirk fresh in or from the starfleet academy... and so on.

Oooooh, I wasn't aware that the storyline setup would involve Captain Kirk in his younger years! I thought it was a new generation aboard the Starship Enterprise ^^;;
