Woooah, you even took the time to provide bullet points and everything! Thank you for sharing your thoughts about my situation, I am very welcoming to any possible suggestions or input on what I might do ^_
( ... )
If you look into another job you're just falling into a cycle where you'll have a LOT of trouble kicking yourself out and when you look back at 30 you'll wonder where all the time went.
You've GOT to take action. This is a great catalyst.
Thanks for your input and encouragement BW! ^_^ <3
That's exactly what I am rather concerned about if I stick with printing, because it is honestly a career I do not want to stick with. It just doesn't feel like... me ^^; Even tho I know the odds and ends of most of it.
First of all, i am deeply sorry you've lost your Job, these things are always hard, specially when you didnt do anything for it. :/
To your posibilities:...
well how old are you by now? o.o
anyway, I would recomment learning something new as long as you can, sooner or later your possibilites will shrink...
Also i dont know what you like more printing, drawing, gaming... i can only say that working in the game industry bears the risc of not having fun of gaming anymore, therefore i never tried to get a game reviewer in my favorite Game Magzine.
You have the best wishes from me, i hope you find a new good job, with a same good work envoirment...
And for the selfish part... does this mean you may be able to turn on your messengers and we may finelly chat some more? 0:)

Haha! Yes, this does mean I should be around more often than I normally was, so if I spot you around I'll be sure to say hello ^_^
Thanks for your thoughts tho, I appreciate your words and input <3
Right now, I am rocking the 26 years of age, as crazy as that might sound! Another reason why I think I should take advantage of some extra learning, while I still have the time on my hands ^^
I have heard similar stories as well regarding the gaming industry... depending on what you do, it can become really taxing on your schedule and free time. I suppose tho, if you have a passionate amount of people working on it, the end result is putting something out there that delights individuals ^^

Ha, so we are same old (i'm 26 since 16th October 2008), i think i can remember this. :)
And in the end i normally dont like to do what i do at work at home too, so if i would play games, i wouldnt play at home, and i like playing at home. :D
First I must say I'm sorry to hear you've been let go, it's never easy. Quitting a job doesn't come even close to the pain of that.
Seems like there's a lot of furs getting the boot recently, Vashdragon got layed off a few days ago as well.
As for your future, uni/college sounds decent if you can find the money for it and figure out what you want to get a degree in. It's something to be rather proud of too... especially if you make it all the way through the long, aggravating/stressful process. Graphic art also sounds fine. You certainly seem to have a lot of support for it online and I'm sure someone out there is looking for that kind of talent.
Otherwise... I can't say I'm coming up with much else to suggest that hasn't already been said.
Thanks Germ, I appreciate your response and thoughts ^_^
Having that sense of accomplishment would certainly make for a gratifying experience. In my previous line of work, I was able to do my job effectively and precise, but there wasn't a real rewarding factor to it all. It just felt like I was doing work for the sake of it being work. I would like to be in a position where, what I accomplish feels like it makes a difference, or brings a smile to someones face.
Oh, and I know this has been said before, but your avatar kicks ass ^w^
