I'm in between cringing at the post office (I'm sorry they're being like this!) and dropping my jaw in awe at your talent. I need to sew more, but my handsewing is slow and crap (and thus, limited almost exclusively to repairs) and I have no idea how to operate the sewing machine that was my husband's grandmother's (no point in asking my mother-in-law, she's a shopper, not a sewer)... so it languishes in a closet while I dream up clothes I'd love to sew, but can't.

Ergh, yeah. I won't be able to go find out what the problem is until Monday at the earliest, but it's weird, because usually customs is an issue when inbound (British customs are currently holding my corset to ransom).

What sort of machine is it? If it's an old handcrank, I might be able to help...
