"Maybe if you would help carry stuff, I could go a little faster!" Gus nearly tripped over a large stick--why was that even there?!--and just managed to catch himself before toppling over with the supplies. Shawn wouldn't have helped him with that, either.

He picked up the pace a little, catching up to his friend, and entertaining the idea of just shoving the backpack at Shawn. The only reason he didn't was because it was highly likely that Shawn would just let it drop, and who knew what kind of breakables were inside? No, they shouldn't take that risk.

The boat in plain view, Gus said, "I thought you didn't have to try to find clues, anyway, Mr I-can-spot-a-misprint-at-100-feet."

"Gus, you know I pulled a muscle." It didn't matter which one, just whichever made it impossible for him to be at all helpful in any way.

"And if you hadn't noticed, things work differently on an enchanted island than they did back home. I mean, for example, the other day when I was in the storage room, I found this wicked hat in the clothing box, right. All of a sudden the brooms down there all started dancing around, cleaning on their own accord. It was weird." The point was that clues could totally get up and move if they wanted, and he thought he made a pretty good argument.

"Also? I'm at an obvious disadvantage here since I'm not psychic anymore." Not that he ever was.

"That's The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Shawn. You are still not Mickey Mouse," Gus pointed out, lifting the pack higher on his back. No one was around, but he still wanted to get on the boat as quickly as possible. And not only so he could set this thing down.

"And you were never psychic to begin with, so you can stop trying to make me feel sorry for you. In fact, you should feel sorry for me, since I'm the one doing all the heavy lifting."
