I was just reading about the British elections. Do I understand this correctly that even though Tony Blair won reelection as the Prime Minister, he could still end up being replaced by the Parliament because his party, the Labour Party, lost a bunch of seats to The Conservatives?

The PM is merely the leader of the dominating party in Parliament. So, even though Labour is the majority party, the party could choose to replace him as leader/PM, due to the fuckup of the war in Iraq loss of seats to the Conservatives.

Okay, that makes sense. I'm so used to the way that it is done in the U.S., with the presidential election being separate from the congressional elections.
