It's a sad day for Detroit hockey fans. Stevie Yzerman has decided to retire after 22 years with the team :(

I hate the Red Wings (sorry), but you can't be a hockey fan and not respect the hell out of what Steve Yzerman accomplished. He played his ass off--mostly while hurt toward the end of his career--but he never had the superstar attitude to go with the superstar career. And his devotion to his team is one that is hard to find in sports these days. It's rare lately to find an athlete that kids can look up to. Steve Yzerman was one of those guys.

I do believe I know you, I was Dawn Spinazzola back then. Graduated in 88 and I think we may have even gone to the same elem. school too.
