I woke up this morning around 3:30 and couldn't go back to sleep. I just realized it must have been my subconscious notifying me that today is my LJ's 5th birthday! Let's reflect on where I was back then:

How exotic.
The handful of Mexican restaurants in Edinburgh do them, but they're expensive restaurant-y food, which is kind of wrong. Like paying a five or six quid for a bacon roll.

The concept of meat in pies in America is pretty much unthought of. A pie conjures up dessert, nothing more nothing less. People even get exasperated with thinking of pizzas as "pies" from time to time. Although come to think of it, I remember seeing pie vendors in Victoria Station (well, they were called "pasties" I believe - is that the same as a pie?) that had various hearty fillings...
Let's just assign everyone to bring food to Amsterdam!
