Good Sunday morning from seemingly the only person currently awake in the Eastern Time Zone. 7 years since I officially became an item with the missus, as of around 1:30 or so this afternoon - long may it run

That's all very nice to say! I've actually felt pretty bad about being away from lj. Right now its either in my 20 spare minutes in the morning or after everyone else goes to bed (assuming I survive). Which kinda puts a big asterisk on all my proposals above, but nevertheless...
You shame me in pointing out that I haven't posted any photos of S-chan beyond her first weekend of existence. I'm typing on our free laptop (anytime one of S' workmates upgrades their PC and is preparing to recycle their old junk, we always ask for it instead) which has no photos on it, but I'll have to rectify the next time I'm on our other PC. Perhaps this weekend, which will be nice timing as we should have fresh photos from A-chan's premiere ballet recital...
And in just reading your posts from today, sympathies on your car. When I got my Honda Accord in 2003, first new car I ever bought, it lasted all of 6 weeks before it got a series of dents all around. Alas, the ways of the world...
Well thanks! I've been thinking of you recently because I've been meaning to get out those CDs you burned for us a few years ago - now that A-chan's all into children's music, I thought I'd see if she still gets into that Ida lady/Lisa Loeb CD as much as she did back then...
I empathize completely with you. Hey, at least you write about your vacation. I've hardly ever written about living in my home country. Like you, I had much grander (my definition of "grand", of course) plans too.
Being a comic book geek, I was planning to do a 52 week encyclopedia about life here. I even went through the effort of listing up to 30+ items and had short snippets written for about ten of them. Then I discarded it all. Internal editors can be a royal pain.
I do hope you post more though. Even if 90% of your music related posts are way above my head, I still do enjoy reading them.
There was a comic I was a fan of called Pickle by a New Zealander named Dylan Horrocks. The genius concept in the comic was that there was a library that had all the books that wasn't written in there (wait, maybe its Sandman I'm thinking of - regardless, both comics had neat libraries in them if I recall). Maybe there's some modern day internet version of same and all our grand plans are resting there together. Nice thought at least!
Thanks for writing - and I see you'll be back on our shores by the weekend? It sounds kind of odd to say, especially since I'm probably the most Hollywood-ignorant person in America at this moment, but I really want to see LA. And SF lived up to everything everyone had ever told me - is this your first time?
Oh, and about music...have you heard of a Korean band called the Mustangs? I got a track by them on a Japanese compilation called Asian Flashback. The liners say that they won a couple of awards at a recent Korean Music Awards, which surprised me a bit since their music didn't sound at all like
