the fatal mistake was when we held each other to keep warm inbetween the godawful support act and her--she's cold-natured anyway and brought a coat so she was considerably warmer than myself--as i later said, "you never know how cold you are until you actually get a trace of warmth", and once i had to break away from my comfort zone i was a perpetual grampa simpson for the rest of the night...
I think it's really nice that you go to your wife's shows. I'm lucky that my boyfriend and I generally like the same things, which doesn't generally seem to be the case with most couples.
sorry if i didn't show any recognition when i saw you (by the way, i've deduced who you are now--when you first replied on ihm, i thought you were your boyfriend) but my vision is shot...that, and if it was saturday night, i smuggled a pack of high-powered belgian ale into the club and got sufficiently loopy

Yeah, I generally don't walk up to people I don't know very well anyway, just on principle. My boyfriend does post on ihm as well sometimes, although I don't think he has lately.
I'm glad her friends enjoyed the festival. I thought it was really cool that moses put this whole thing together because a lot of those bands would never make it to Atlanta otherwise.
The bands at notown were definitely ones that my boyfriend is more familiar with, but I think I pretty much liked all the bands, although I've seen magik markers twice now (the first time was with double leopards and sonic youth) and I'm still not sure how I feel about them. I think maybe I don't like them so much. Also I'm sorry I had to miss half of the NNCK set and the end of sunburned, but unfortunately I do not have a car and was at the whim of my friend and public transportation. Overall, I think my favorite was charalambides, who I hadn't heard before but really enjoyed quite a bit.
i understand, i feel pretty awkward talking to people i don't really know, other than just saying "hi"--sunburned hand nearly stayed at my apt the last time they came through town, and i had a really good time hanging out with them at drunken unicorn last year, so i thought i'd go up to them and chat--and they recognized me, but otherwise it was like the social equivalent of tumblin' tumbleweeds...hey, it should be obvious i'm a bit of a social outcast, i am a record collector after all

i hate the pre-dawn wakeup too but for the past week or so there was actually daybreak gleaming through the windows--that said, at 7am dawn is just starting and it makes for some scenic views on the commute so i can live with a brief moment of darkness--but only a brief moment, not several or even a couple moments...
i'm getting ready for the marxism crash course on friday--i bitched when we moved into our apt complex about the mandatory charge for cable, but i figured if i've gotta have it i may as well get some use out of it--other than what little i've seen of them, i'm not too knowledgable on any of those other slapstick/vaudevillian troupes, but maybe this month's tcm programming might do something about it--i just taped "the bank dick" the other night too...
i was surprised that the tickets for tori were just $42 at symphony hall, because it was a good small venue--not that that's cheap necessarily, but considering how massive her cult is i thought it was a respective bargain
