"condiments" appears to have been the big winner of this survey with the popular vote, but i had a few problems with it ( ... )

Condiments maybe? But that sounds so wrong if you are talking about Mexican food. I think it is safe to say "salsas" although most of them aren't at all, but I know that some of the far less authentic places have what they call a "salsa bar" where they also toss the onions and limes and cilantro and stuff. I think garnishes is good too.

I'm really in no mind to be thinking straight however. I guess we are blowing off seeing No Neck Blues Band tonight, although they are playing in a tiny little space that would be a perfect place to see them. I'm giving myself a MIGRAINE realizing that once again I'm blowing off a show I really want to see. Also, I don't think we are making it to a friend's birthday party. First it was both - then one or the other - now neither. I'm just SOO tired. And old. And fishmael has to work in the morning. And now Aspen is acting odd, although I doubt we will have a Dog Drama Redux.

I'm loving these LJ year at a glance things, but I'm afraid to do mine. This weekend I swear I'll comment or email or ( ... )

i just overanalyzed the "condiments" concerns in my reply to vertamae - but now i really have the urge to force you to visit atlanta, because only the authentic places around here (well, not counting dreck like moe's, although i pray thats a chain that has not darkened your doorstep in the PNW) have salsa bars - and they're FANTASTIC! and atlanta's temperatures are currently in the 40s/50s, so there's no better time to come - you know there's no way out of this now...

it sounds like everyone had a quiet friday night - if it helps you any, the NNCKers are apparently a group that likes to deal in extremes, so for every great show they put on they do some "ehh" shows as well...for your sake, i hope it was one of the latter on friday night...

hoping all is well with aspen - its just a bad time of year, i guess...and you've already praised me too much with the music i sent you - well, i shouldn't say "too much" because there's never enough - but everything you've said so far has been very much appreciated!

Hey, you buy the plane ticket and I'm there this weekend ;-)

I keep telling fishmael that we need to get out of town, even if it is just for a weekend. I love Seattle, but I really need a change of scenery and a mental health vacation. We have been trying to get a weekend in Portland, which is all of THREE HOURS away for over a year now. Can't seem to do it. Portland, by the way, is a must see when you finally get out here to the land that is (at least as far as I know) free from "moe's", although the PNW has a chain of "burrito" places called Taco del Mar (Taco they call it, when 95% of their business and menu is this thing they call a burrito - which isn't what normal folks would refer to as a burrito) which are just a few notches under classification: generic/bland ( ... )

I would probably just call them garnishes or condiments.

thanks, although it feels a little weird looking back, seeing how one week in may got stretched out to 4 months' worth of special sentences - i feel like i cheated!

i'm going to try a butterfinger crisp today from our snack machine, on your recommendation! i also bought egg nog last week, because it had been so long since i had it that i didn't remember what it tasted like - you have no idea how influential you are!
