I thought the woman watching the TV set and crying was supposed to be the Polish actress from the original production that never finished (she hugs Laura Dern at the end, having been set free) but that's just my guess.

My one line description is that it's a three hour movie about Laura Dern's face.

The first conversation I had with my wife this morning was your analysis (not the face but the Polish actress) and she immediately said "oh that makes too much sense" and she's come around to your thinking. But if that's the case, does that mean that she's a character from beyond the grave? And would that insinuate that Dern dies? This is getting too much for my head again...
