Its a special "all-music" edition of psyched_out this week. As opposed to the other ones which are typically 94% music content.

First off, Atlanta people, this new issue of Creative Loafing and its cover star, Kenny Crucial. Why have I never seen or heard of this guy? I may be a homebody these days, but I was typically front-and-center at a lot of supposedly ( Read more... )

I can't believe I never read CL anymore. But, I am on the Bites email list, so I occasionally buy those discount restaurant coupons still (I'll be going to Carpe Diem soon!). Love Neil Young, love. He's one of my MySpace friends. :)

I no longer religiously pick up a CL every Thursday (although admittedly they aren't as readily available here) and when I do I have a tendency to read just Cliff Bostock's column although there are other features in the paper I like (although I gave up on the music section after Jason Ferguson left the paper years ago). I do encourage it, but its a different beast these days...

I hope you enjoy Carpe Diem! Actually I don't see how you couldn't - its your favorite bistro, only in a bigger space and not next door to a theater - we're still using our Sotto Sotto coupons - went there last week, and we'll be there again sometime before next Thursday - thank goodness for expiration dates, it gives us an excuse to keep going back...

Say hi to Neil for me!

CL is totally available online, you know. Not as much fun as getting newsprint on your fingers of course, but it's there. I forget to check it out, but I know where to find it if I need it.

I've actually been to Carpe Diem before - I had a blind date there, a guy I met through the personals at Salon.com. No love connection, but we drank beers and shared some calamari. This will be my first time going back, and as a veg. Wow, how many Sotto Sotto coupons did you get? I need one of those too - but I guess I need to check their menu first, make sure they have some good veg food.

I will say hi to Neil for you. I'd say you should get on MySpace too, but I doubt it would work for you. When are you going to get a new PC anyway? And... more pics of of A-chan please! She must be a big girl by now!!

My favorite favorite thing on the Sotto Sotto menu is veg-friendly - the risotto with caramelized onions and aged balsamic vinegar - granted, it may be an acquired taste but dear lord...we go there at least 4 or 5 times a year and i get it almost every time...we typically max out the coupons when they offer sotto sotto...it doesn't hurt that their staff make up a large part of the A-chan Fan Club - she's pampered to over there...

I'm probably going to add some pictures again soon - yes she's 18 months old as of tomorrow morning - she blows kisses and imitates animal noises and wears sunglasses and I just bought her her first rock and roll t-shirt which I desperately want her to try on now that the warm weather's coming back...

alas myspace won't work for me, as my PC literally can't upload it and needless to say I won't try it at work (actually it was blocked via firewall back in the day) - so that's one wave of the future that won't blow me down...

Just an interesting note - because I do in fact read your posts at least three times, it wasn't until the third reading that I paused on "but this probably is the best Turkish psych CD I've heard yet" with a trememdous feeling of warmth. That little sentence says so much. It isn't the slightest bit hipster the way I read it - if it was, it would have been "this is the best Turkish psych CD ever". There would be no "probably" and certainly not the naked truth of "that I've heard...", and yet I started laughing to myself about going into work with the people I spend most of my days with, people I really like, and saying "my friend says it is probably the best Turkish psych CD he has heard yet ( ... )

Most endearing LJ comment ever. Not "probably". Not "in my opinion". Actually I always make sure to fill my reviews with insecurities for fear that someone actually buys said product and says "this sucks, and its all his fault ( ... )
