I wish I was that good! Martial arts is still my forte. Although I picked up breaking pretty quick. But I think I should practice the stuff he taught me or I'll forget all of it.
The carpark one took 2 nights to film and about a week to rotoscope... *pain* I also had to mask out the differences in cars parked.
The type one took 1 hour to film because I needed to share the camera between 5 people over 1 weekend (stupid photography loans people). That's why the editing isn't the best it could have been because I didn't have the time to shoot more footage. But like I said, they were more like ideas that turned out better than expected.
I did a lot of masking, use of clean plates and tracking of motion, but the post production time wasn't as long or as labour intensive as the carpark one. It took about a week to complete.
Thanks Cas! Yeah if you watch carefully, when the light trails are at it's peak it's brightest.
I remember you wanted to rotoscope lightsabers at on point. Do you want to see this footage without the rotoscoping? It doesn't look anywhere near as supernatural, but it'd give you something to compare it with. I'll see if I can upload it, later this week.
I don't know if anyone noticed the flickering of the TV typography in the second one? Some people said they only noticed it after I pointed it out. Problem with YouTube, you don't notice the details. Annoying, because I spent so much time working on them. *cry*
