The idea of Bram Stoker writing Dracula as a manual for actual vampire hunters was also used in the Dresden Files, so it's not just Harry Potter you're good at predicting!

That's wild. I haven't read the Dresden Files, so I had no idea. I wouldn't be surprised, though, if that author and I were not the only two people who thought of including such a detail in a fictional world where vampires are "real". I keep thinking I need to check out the Dresden Files; maybe I finally will now!

(Anon was me posting on my phone.) I wondered at first if you were making a reference, but then remembered when you wrote it. I missed your stories first time round, though I was in the fandom then: got into them via Potterfic Weekly, plus some discussions I've had about where various fanfic tropes come from.

Dresden has some good Harry Potter references, like how he gets asked "are you really a wizard called Harry?" about once a week, and a whole short story centred around wannabe-dark wizards with Slytherin scarves and hand-drawn Dark Marks.
