Haha, just dropping by. I watch the douwata community :3. Thought I'd throw in my two cents(although I see it is an older entry)~
I did find it dragged a lot in the middle, and Conrad!Betrayal arc just went on forever. I can't say I ever really watched it much for the story though, I just found the characters and general situations fcking hilarious XD. Every episode they'd flick to Gunther being Gunther, at least once it seemed. So if the episode was bad, there was always some Gunther to look forward too :3.
And I thought the ending, while somewhat anti-climatic suited the style of what the series was, they never really focused on "super shounen" style battles, most were fairly short and tended to be styled more towards character development than anything else(from what I remember anyway >_And damn, the end of the last episode... XD

I'm a major Gwendal/Günter fan, though I have no problem with any other pairing. I just find the others slightly more boring. The only one I can really get into is G/G
