Sucks what happened to your sister. And I can sorta understand the satisfaction as I have a sister myself. My mom the accountant says she thinks the law requires your sister's bank to fully disclose any charges verbally, not just by handing her a piece of paper and expecting her to read it. She might want to consider looking into the laws, because those charges may not be entirely legal. Also, I'd suggest switching banks.
Out of curiousity what bank was this? I've never heard of one with fees like that.
