Okay, this took me longer than expected, but here ya go. Part II. And it's long, because we did a shitload of stuff on Friday. Enjoy!
Em and I woke up at 6:30 am (!!!) Friday morning and the fact that I had only 3 hours of sleep didn't bother me at all because we were so high on adrenaline and just could not go back to sleep. I think Mreen and Cynthia, our other roommate, were up too. We got out of bed and started getting ready for the day ahead. When we got to the lobby there already was a gathering of scapers. A bunch of them were going to watch Harry Potter, the rest of us were going to the Terra Firma meet-up.
The meet-up was outside the Convention center and that's when we started to get to know people. The show wasn't opening until 1 pm so we hung out outside for a few hours. The breakfast was a blast, most of the people I had met the previous night were there (
Lisa, birthsister, Egraine, KernilCrash, CrystalMoon, Imloco2, hank...) and a whole bunch of others. Those who were in charge of putting the Con books together were passing them around for people to sign. I wrote a thank you note in jonathan Hardy's (Rygel) book and wrote "Scorpius + Braca = OTP!!!" in David's book. Heee. Crash had a poster of A Killer Within with her and she help it up while everybody took picutres of it, and then we took a group photo that you can see
here.
The doors to the Convention center finally opened and we went inside. We looked around at the merchandise tables for a while then decided to go find our seats, which were F41 and F42. They were good seats, despite being on the right side of the hall. We headed back out and wasted some more time until it was jonathan's turn to come onstage. A funny thing happened here. Em and I went back to our seats and found them occupied by two other people. We showed them our tickets and pointed out that these were our seats, but they had the same seat numbers of their tickets. So we headed back out and told the Creation people about the mix-up and they gave us new seats, IN ROW B. Hee. The guy who had our seats told us he hates us, lol. The new seats were fantastic, right behind the VIP area where some of the cast sometimes sit when someone else is onstage.
Anyhoo, the show kicked off with a few music videos and then Jonathan Hardy made an appearance. For those of you who don't know what he looks like, imagine the human version of Rygel. He even has the same eyebrows, hee. He was so adorable! He talked about Rygel, Shakespeare (there was a mention of Rygel playing Hamlet in Hyneria, lol) and some of his upcoming projects. I can't remember all the details, but he cracked us up. He wasn't onstage long though, I think it was only half an hour. Afterwards more music videos were shown and it was Raelee Hill's (Sikozu) turn to get onstage. Dude, she is so freaking cute! Adorable and cute will be repeated to death in my reports by the way. She talked a bit about Sikozu and how she got the role, and someone asked her about the costume and she said that it was really difficult to move in it. Some questions were asked about Sikozu but I will not post them because I don't want to spoil anyone. She then sang a song for us, which was great, and said that she loves musicals and she'd love to do a theatre musical. I made a note to tell her about Wicked later on ;) Oh and Raelee told us that David has a wonderful voice and that we should ask him to sing for us.
There was a gap between the time Raelee left the stage and the time David made his appearance, and I can't really remember what went on during that time. Freaky, heh. I do remember there was Trivia contest with tricky questions that I didn't know the answers to. And at one point we saw the costumes that were to be auctioned on Sunday. Anyway, later that afternoon David came onstage, and he was a riot. Someone from the audience asked him to sing per Raelee's instructions, and he laughed and jokingly called the guy (or was he addressing all of us?) a bastard. But he sung nonetheless, and I gotta say he pulls off his Elvis act quite well. He told us a story about how he got pulled over by a cop once here in the US but managed to get away without a ticket because the cop was a Farscape fan, lol. He also told us that he auditioned for Stargate (!) but didn't get the role, and that it took him 7 hours to get from Victoria to Vancouver because someone on the ferry had a heart attack and they had to turn around. Again there was some talk about the show, and that's pretty much all I can remember.
After the show was over, Em and I decided to give
Kel a call while waiting for our autographs. She came to the Convention center a while later, and we sat outside for a few minutes. It was fantastic to meet her (she's very tall and super cool :D). Em and I had to get back in and stand in line for the autograph. It was long LONG line and we were feeling terrible for leaving Kel waiting outside. We eventually got to the tables where jonathan and Raelee were and got our autographs. I told Raelee about Wicked and how she should audition for the role of Glinda should the opportunity ever offer itself. She was grateful for the suggestion :)
We went back outside afterwards, and Em, Kel and I went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. That was a lot of fun too, we chatted about Alias, toasters and other things, and
Patty and
Kris were mentioned several times ;) Kel has a picture of the three of us in the restaurant, which I would really like to see.
By 10ish we left and headed back to the hotel, and a small incident involving Em and the mexican food occured but I will spare you. Kel left, and Em and I went back up to our room to freshen up for the party Ka'Leo and the others were throwing in one of the ballrooms. That was a lot of fun too. I got groped by Mikey, and then got him to buy me a drink. There was dancing, there was drunken madness, and there was singing. We had to leave by 1am but we all headed to the bar because no one was ready to call it a night yet. There birthsister introduce me to Dave, the security guy. Very nice man, he did a nice thing for me at the breakfast on Sunday. The bar closed shortly after and we went to the lobby (we don't give up, I tell you) and Em went to bed at some point. And by the way, Cynthia, one of our roommates, is the funniest drunken person ever :D
We hung out in the lobby for a while drinking and chatting, then I decided that I was too tired and that it would be a good idea for me to go to bed.
